I got a book deal!
I’m very excited to announce that I just signed the contract for my first book deal! (Can you see me glowing from there?)
Here’s the scoop.
The working title is Slushed: From Frozen Gin Fizz to Watermelon Margarita Sorbet—150 Icy Treats for the Coolest Happy Hour Ever.
The book will be a collection of easy-to-make, booze-infused frozen desserts (everything from pops to ice cream and frozen cocktails). It’s scheduled to be published by Adams Media in the Spring of 2012.
Read a little more on my food blog, The Hungry Mouse.
The deadline is pretty aggressive, so if you’re looking for me this summer, I’ll be in my kitchen commanding a small fleet of ice cream makers—writing recipes and shooting all the photography.
Stay tuned for more updates. It’s going to be a wild summer!
Big thanks to The Northshore Magazine Daily, which featured my recipe for homemade ketchup today at the top of their homepage. I always appreciate local love!
A new partnership with Kraft
I’m really excited to announce that I’m one of three bloggers that Kraft and Breakstone’s has asked to participate in their 2011 Holiday Celebration Program. I worked with Kraft for the first time last year, when I won their Triple Churned recipe challenge.
For this year’s program, I’ll be doing recipe development around two holidays: Easter and Christmas.
For the Easter program, I developed an appetizer recipe and a table centerpiece. My app was Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus Bundles with Sage Infused Sour Cream (great presentation and really easy to make).
And for my centerpiece, ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to present the Peep Topiary! This post has been up for about a week, and it’s already been shared on Facebook 600+ times.
My posts were also featured on a special Breakstone’s holiday microsite, as well as on Better Homes and Gardens magazine’s website.
Stay tuned for more fun with Kraft at the end of the year.
Ever hear of About.me?
It’s a new personal splash page of sorts, recently acquired by AOL. Think of it as an online business card that links all your accounts together (Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, Flickr, LinkedIn, etc.) in one place.
For example, here’s mine.
Thanks, Google!
So psyched to see that the home page of my food blog, The Hungry Mouse, has a Google page rank of 5! Really nice to see all the hard work paying off, slowly but surely.
